Emergency Dental Treatment

Injuries to the teeth and soft tissues of the face are highly specific in nature and can vary considerably in severity. They can occur at work, during sports activities or, for example, as a result of an assault. A blow to the teeth or a fall can cause luxation (dislocation) and loosening of one or more teeth.

Injuries to permanent teeth most commonly occur between the ages of 8 and 11. This means that most injured teeth have not yet completed root development. The root canal is wide, and its walls are thin in the apical region.

The fundamental principle of treating injuries to permanent teeth is therefore to preserve the vitality of the dental pulp, allowing continued root development, including the physiological deposition of dentin.

In the event of a dental injury, see a dentist or contact a dental practice as soon as possible.
